Noob, newb, or newbie Chance are we all have been a noob or newb at one time, but the question is which were we. Noob is a derogatory remark that means that you are new to some activity and think you know everything, worse, you will never change. In contrast, newb is a person who is new to an activity yet is willing to learn. Both species are equally annoying.
