On 24 October 2009 Elecbyte Released M.U.G.E.N 1.0 Release Candidate #4. M.U.G.E.N is a 2D fighting game engine with many customizable components.

This Release Candidate was replaced with M.U.G.E.N 1.0 MugenRC5

System requirements

  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP SP2 or newer required.
  • CPU: Intel Core Duo or equivalent recommended for HD resolutions.
  • Memory: 512 MB or more (actual requirements may vary based on character and stage complexities).

Engine Changes

  • CNS: Added GameWidth and GameHeight triggers.
  • CNS: Display error if character uses a controller or trigger inappropriate for its mugenversion.
  • Localization: Implemented storyboard scene localization. See localization docs for notes.
  • Implemented png screenshots. Press F12 to take a screenshot.
  • Mouse cursor now hidden in fullscreen.

Bug Fixes

  • AIR: Fixed empty anim actions throwing error. Empty actions will be ignored.
  • BGs: Changed start position value from integer to float.
  • CNS: Fixed AIlevel triggering in cooperative dummy in training mode.
  • CNS: Fixed players with HitOverride taking damage outside of movetype = H
  • CNS: Fixed bug where CNS load error is not reported for common1.cns in a player's directory.
  • CNS: Fixed player with HitOverride not being affected by a HitDef with p2stateno = <any value that is not -1> and p2getp1state = 1.
  • CNS: Fixed bug where != operator was incorrectly parsed for HitDefAttr, AuthorName, TeamMode
  • CNS: Fixed helper facing bug introduced in RC3.
  • Fixed guard distance checking bug in a different coordinate spaces.
  • Fixed helpers/explods with ownpal=1 not being affected by RemapPal
  • Disabled logo storyboard from showing during quickvs

Elecbyte shall not be held responsible for any failure of M.U.G.E.N and its associated tools to operate properly, whether through deficiencies of the software or through user error. Elecbyte disclaims all express and implied warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
  2. The M.U.G.E.N environment, defined as any or all of the M.U.G.E.N executable, documentation, sample character and stage files, configuration files, and other associated data files provided by Elecbyte and necessary for proper operation of the executable, is copyrighted by Elecbyte and may not be redistributed in whole or in part, altered or unaltered, without Elecbyte's express written permission. Only the following files are exempt from this restriction, and may be freely distributed and/or altered for non-commercial purposes: all files in the data/ directory, all files in the chars/kfm/ directory, all files in the font/ directory, stages/kfm.def and stages/kfm.sff.
  3. Elecbyte places no restrictions on distribution of character files, stage files, add-on packs, or similar items which operate under the M.U.G.E.N environment, as long as said distribution is pursuant to the conditions of paragraph 2. All applicable laws governing such distribution remain in force. You agree to indemnify Elecbyte from any legal liability for your use, or distribution, of such files.
  4. Failure by Elecbyte to enforce any of the terms of this agreement shall not constitute forfeiture of Elecbyte's right to enforce said terms.
  5. In the event of an inconsistency between this license agreement and other Elecbyte documents, the terms of this license agreement shall prevail, subject only to possible supersession by subsequent license agreements. If any of the terms of this license agreement conflict with the laws in your locale, the conflicting terms will be rendered null and void. The remainder of this agreement shall still obtain.
